WHY AN APPROVED AI

54% of US teens have used AI chatbots for schoolwork. 44% of teens who use AI for schoolwork have had an AI tool blocked on a school network or device. Of those, 59% used a personal device instead. On a personal phone, teachers see nothing and class rules do not apply.

A finished answer can skip the part a student needs to learn. In a field experiment with about 1,000 high-school students, answer-giving AI raised practice scores but cut unaided exam scores by 17%. A hint-first version of the same AI removed that harm. That is why every Nexus class has a learning mode that students cannot change: Hints, Guided, or Full answer with critique.

Who is Nexus for?

Nexus is for high schools and other schools with students 13 and older. Students get help with the part they are stuck on. Teachers set the rules for their classes and can review class chats. School leaders choose the models, who has access, and the budget.

How does Nexus support learning?

Each class has a learning mode that students cannot change: Hints, Guided, or Full answer with critique. Teachers add instructions for the assignment, such as "ask for an attempt first." Students can ask for a hint, another explanation, or feedback on their own attempt. Nexus is built to keep the thinking with the student, not to hand over finished work.

What can teachers see?

Teachers can see the class chats for the classes they teach: the student's questions and the answers. Your school's Nexus administrators can see them too. Students are told when a chat can be reviewed, and Nexus records who opened each class chat. Personal chats are not shown to teachers.

Which AI models can students use?

The models your school approves. Teachers can narrow the list for a class. Where your school allows it, a student can compare answers from up to three approved models.

How do you handle student data?

Your school owns its data. We do not sell it, show ads, or train AI models on it, and we put that in our agreement. To answer a question, Nexus sends it to the AI provider your school approved. Under their business terms, those providers do not train on it by default and keep it only for a limited time. Read the privacy notice for the details.

Is Nexus for school or personal use?

Nexus is for schools. Students and staff sign in with the Google account named in their school invitation. A student can also keep personal chats that are not linked to a class. Personal chats are not shown to teachers. The exceptions are your school's safety route, a legal requirement, and a parent's request to see records where the law gives parents that right.

How does pricing work?

Nexus costs $20 per active student per month. An active student is one your school has given access that month. Model usage is billed separately by your school's AI provider account. You set daily spending limits for the school and for each student, so model costs stop at the limits you choose.
