What is a subprocessor?
Definition
Law and privacySubprocessor
A subprocessor is a company a vendor uses to process its customers' data, such as a hosting provider, a model router or an AI model provider.
Why it matters for schools
In an AI product, student questions usually pass through more than one company: the vendor, sometimes a router, and an AI provider, each with its own terms. A school should see the full list, know what each one does with the data, and get notice before a new one is added.
In Nexus
We list our subprocessors in the agreement and give notice before adding one.
