[ WHERE IT STANDS ]
Status
Students can paste an assignment into a class chat today, and the class learning mode applies to the help they get. Nexus labels pasted text as pasted and does not fetch the source link.
a connection that brings class materials from Moodle into a Nexus class. It has not run against a school's real Moodle yet, and it is not part of the next release.
Moodle sites differ. Pasting does not
Many schools host their own Moodle, with their own plugins and permissions, so every Moodle connection has to be tested on that school's site. Pasting avoids all of that: a student copies the assignment from Moodle into a Nexus class chat, and the class learning mode applies. Nothing in Moodle changes.
Make assignments paste well
A pasted assignment works best when it stands alone. Teachers can help by putting the task, the success criteria and any constraints in the assignment text itself, and by adding class instructions in Nexus, such as "Ask for the student's attempt before giving a hint." What to plan with your IT team
- Who administers your Moodle site and its web services.
- Which courses join the pilot, and which materials should stay out of a student-facing AI.
- Student and staff Google accounts for Nexus sign-in.
- Your filter's AI category and the Nexus allow-list.

Questions and answers
Does Nexus integrate with Moodle?
Not yet. A connection that brings class materials from Moodle into a Nexus class is in progress. Today, students can paste an assignment into a class chat, and the class learning mode applies.
Does Nexus work with self-hosted Moodle?
Students can paste assignments from any Moodle site today. When the materials connection ships, we will test it on your own Moodle site during setup.
Do teachers need to change their Moodle courses for a pilot?
No. Courses stay as they are. It helps to write assignment instructions that stand alone when a student pastes them, and to add class instructions in Nexus.
