What is rostering?
Definition
TechnologyRostering
Rostering is the automatic sync of students, teachers, classes and enrollments from a school's student information system into an app.
Why it matters for schools
It saves manual setup and keeps class membership accurate as schedules change. 1EdTech's OneRoster standard exists to "securely and reliably exchange roster information, course materials, and grades between systems." Services such as Clever and ClassLink do the same job; Khan Academy's district product requires Clever or ClassLink rostering.
In Nexus
Clever, ClassLink and OneRoster rostering are not built in Nexus yet. Pilot accounts are set up by enrollment or invitation to each person's exact email address.
