What is LTI?
Definition
TechnologyLTI
LTI, or Learning Tools Interoperability, is 1EdTech's "technical standard (not a product) used to connect learning tools with an institution's learning environment," such as Canvas or Moodle.
Why it matters for schools
LTI lets students open a tool from the LMS without signing in again, shares information about users, enrollments and roles, and can send grades back to the gradebook. Schools often prefer LTI tools because they fit the LMS students already use.
In Nexus
Nexus does not run as an LTI tool inside an LMS. Its Canvas connection, which ships with the next release, uses a Canvas developer key your Canvas admin creates, and students sign in to Nexus directly.
