Code Execution
Configure school Python access, output review and class download rules.
School Python must be enabled and healthy. Model access, provider allowance and teacher policy apply. PNGs require image review and are limited to one small chart per response.
Python lets students explore calculations and data while the class's learning policy remains in place. Enable it only after checking the runtime, model access and school usage allowance.
Capabilities#
Python supports calculations, uploaded data analysis and small practice charts. NumPy, Pandas, SciPy and Matplotlib are installed in the school runtime. Returned text, JSON and PNG files must pass the response review before students can download them.
This is a Python chart feature. It does not configure a separate image-generation provider, web search or voice service.
Configuration#
Open the web Admin Panel and select Code Interpreter. Check that the private execution server is connected and healthy. Enable the action for the relevant agent, then check the student's available actions and class settings.
The runtime is configured for the hosted school workspace. It is not automatically available in every deployment. If the server is disabled, unhealthy or unavailable to an agent, do not promise Python access to the class.
Choose school-approved models and a funded provider allowance. Chart review requires a supported vision model. Text-only or unsupported review models withhold PNG output rather than releasing an unreviewed chart. The review call is included in the school-funded reservation.
Connect / Disconnect Code Execution Server#
The admin page shows connection and health status. Disconnecting the server makes Python unavailable; it does not change the class's other learning rules. After reconnecting, run a small calculation and download test before using it in a lesson.
How It Works#
Execution takes place in a separate workspace with restricted filesystem access, resource limits and a timeout. External network access is disabled. Students cannot use Python to bypass model selection, class membership or the teacher's response policy.
Before release, Nexus reviews the full text output and the actual PNG chart. PNGs are decoded and re-encoded as opaque RGB images, removing metadata and hidden transparency. Only the reviewed bytes are made downloadable. A denied or incomplete review withholds the files.
Each text or JSON file is limited to 16 KiB. A response can release at most four files totaling 32 KiB, including at most one PNG of up to 1024 × 1024 pixels and 32 KiB. Animated images and other binary formats are withheld.
Check the class setup#
Use a student account in the intended class to request a small calculation and a practice chart.
Confirm the response follows the chosen learning approach. If the policy disallows files, confirm that no file is released.
Review the conversation as its teacher and open the released file.
Confirm an unrelated account cannot use the file link.
Repeat with the models and devices you intend to offer. A successful calculation alone does not verify every model or download path.
